| Environmental Flows for non-perennial rivers - suggestions needed|
The University of the Free State, South Africa are involved in a Water Research Commission Project on EF for non-perennial rivers where they are trying to develop a method. Problems identified are that perennial methods do not work in non-perennial rivers due to highly variable flow and difficulty in predicting the presence of biota etc. Also no reference condition can be determined due to this unpredictability. Any suggestions or links to other projects of this sort will be appreciated.
